What is a Standing Order?
A standing order enables you to instruct the bank to automatically pay money from your account to another account either held by you or a third party, for a fixed amount and at regular intervals.
Payments can be made weekly, fortnightly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually, depending on your needs.
Please note, You cannot set up a standing order to a Cash ISA, Credit Card or Mortgage account with us online. You can set up payments to these accounts in-branch or by writing to us

What are the benefits of a Standing Order and how does it work?
With a Standing Order you control the amount and date of the payment and the Bank processes the transaction on your behalf.
A standing order means you don't have to worry about missing your regular payment dates - your standing order will automatically be sent on the specified date.
You can lodge cleared funds to your account up to 2pm (12pm on Christmas Eve, provided it is a Banking day) to cover any standing orders due that day.

How to set up a Standing Order
Standing orders can be set up using Online Banking. You can also set up a standing order at your nearest branch.
Standing orders set up online can be set-up for the next banking day if processed before 8pm (UK local time) on a banking day. Should the date you select be a weekend or bank holiday, your account will be debited on the next banking day

How do I amend or cancel a Standing Order
Online Banking and Mobile App
Standing orders can be amended and cancelled using Online Banking or the Mobile App. These can be amended or cancelled for the next banking day if processed before 8pm (UK local time) on a banking day. See daily limits for standing order amendments completed online.
If you need to amend the account details, frequency or payment date, please cancel this standing order and set up a new one in Online Banking.
Visit a branch or write to us
You can amend or cancel a standing order at your nearest branch. Alternatively you can put this request in writing and post it to us.

To cancel a standing order you can call us on 0345 793 0000. Once you login, choose option zero (0) to speak to one of our Customer Service Advisers. Our advisers are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday.

How do I manage the monthly savings payments to my Regular Saver account
If you hold a Regular Saver account, the monthly payments into this account can be amended or cancelled via Online Banking.
You can also manage these payments by visiting your nearest branch.
