Brendan Bane – Head of Treasury
Brendan was appointed Head of Treasury in July 2019. Previously Brendan was Head of Treasury Products, Trade Finance & Cash Management since April 2017. He joined AIB Corporate Treasury in 1991 and managed AIB’s institutional customer portfolio delivering interest rate and FX solutions. He has over 25 years’ experience in Wholesale Fixed Income and Interest Rate Risk markets and has managed a number of Interest rate portfolios in AIB Wholesale Treasury. Prior to April 2017 he was Head of Interest Rate Risk Management for AIB’s Banking Book and was a member of the AIB Treasury Management Board. Brendan holds an honours degree in Commerce from UCD, a post graduate qualification in Strategic Management Accounting from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School Dublin and is a qualified Management Accountant (CIMA).
Tom Hall - Head of Customer Treasury Services
Tom Hall is Head of Customer Treasury Sales. Prior to this he led AIB’s Treasury Sales business in Great Britain and Northern Ireland for 4 years. He has an in depth knowledge of FX & Fixed Income markets and a wealth of experience in using this knowledge to deliver successful outcomes for AIB customers. Hall is a member of the AIB Treasury Management Board and Head of AIB plc’s London Branch.
Mary Sharkey - Head of Treasury Products
Mary has been with Customer Treasury Services since 2001 and has a wide ranging experience across a number of teams including treasury sales, cash management and business development. She gained over ten years’ experience delivering FX and interest rate solutions to AIB’s corporate, SME and retail customer base in Ireland before working in a business development role with responsibility for sourcing funding and liquidity for AIB. She joined the Treasury Products team in 2015 with primary responsibility for treasury data, MI and product management before being appointed Head of Treasury Products in July 2017.
Kieran O’Byrne - Head of Trade Finance & Cash Management
Kieran joined AIB in 1981 and soon after joined their Trade Finance team where he built up an extensive knowledge of the International Trade Business. He has considerable experience in dealing with all aspects of international trade and can advise on all products across the spectrum from the generic to the structured. He is responsible for the delivery of AIB's trade products and is supported by a team that provide help and advice to customers who import and/or export. In 2017 Kieran’s role expanded to include responsibility for our Cash Management team responsible for delivering bulk payment file solutions to our corporate customers. He is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce Irish Banking committee, Irish Asia Trade Forum and the Irish Exporters Association.
Anne Carroll- Head of Cash Management Client Services
Anne currently heads up the Cash Management Client Services team, supporting the bank’s top payment generators. Specifically, Anne works with customers to implement automated end to end solutions between their ERP systems and those of the bank. Anne has over 20 years’ experience with AIB. She has worked in many areas of International Banking covering cash management and treasury products, managing customer relations and branch training and communications. Anne holds a Bachelor of Financial Services Degree from UCD.
Gavin O’Carroll - Head of Business & Retail Treasury Sales, Ireland
Gavin joined AIB Treasury in 1999 and has gained extensive experience serving import and export Customers in both the Corporate and Commercial segments in Ireland and the UK. Prior to joining AIB, Gavin worked in a number of European commercial banks where he served large corporate accounts. Operating in a highly regulated environment, Gavin is an advocate for the most successful outcomes for AIB customers and his deep knowledge of both local and EU regulation ensures best in class practices across the business. Gavin leads a team of Treasury sales professionals serving Business and Personal Customers of AIB across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Gavin holds an honours degree in Economics and Politics from UCD, a post graduate qualification in Financial Services from UCD and a QFA from the Institute of Bankers.
Loyd Odey - Head of Treasury Sales, Great Britain
Loyd has worked in Treasury since 1987 in both Wholesale Trading and Customer Services. He joined Allied Irish Bank in 2000 working in the Corporate Sales team managing the Manchester CTS team from 2007 to 2010. From April 2013 Loyd managed the London Sales team and was appointed Head of CTS GB in June 2014. Loyd has a wealth of experience in trading and risk solutions in fx, option and interest rate products in the Retail, SME and Corporate space. He has been FCA regulated since 2004 and has responsibility for delivering treasury products across the GB Business Centre network and Corporate Banking in GB, Loyd also has responsibility for delivering interest rate products for First Trust NI.
Brian Egan - Head of Financial Institution Relationships
Brian joined AIB in August 2015 as Head of AIB’s Corporate Treasury sales team which is focused on the delivery of Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Risk solutions for corporate and multi-national businesses with operations in Ireland, UK and USA. Since September 2017 Brian is Head of the Financial Institutions. He has over 25 years’ international investment banking experience managing various Domestic, European and Global derivative sales teams for some of the world’s systematically important Financial Institutions. Brian is an alumni of both Trinity College Dublin and UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Dublin.
James Beattie – Senior Treasury Sales Manager, Northern Ireland
James currently heads the AIB (NI) Customer Treasury Services team in Belfast. He has worked for AIB (NI) since 2002, initially within the International Department before joining the Global Treasury Services team in 2004. Since then he has built up an extensive knowledge of foreign exchange and interest rate risk management solutions. With over 14 years’ experience, covering a wide range of industries, James offers a wealth of knowledge to the NI Corporate sector. James holds BSc Honours degree from Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University in Environmental Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology and Financial Services.
