A SEPA Instant Payment can be made to participating banks in the EU/EEA under the SEPA Scheme. From 9 October 2025, eurozone banks must be able to send and receive SEPA Instant payments. For non-eurozone banks, it will not be mandatory to send or receive SEPA Instant Payments until 2027.
The list of EU/EEA countries within the SEPA Scheme are:
Austria , Albania, Belgium, Andorra, Bulgaria, Moldova, Croatia, Monaco, Cyprus, Montenegro,
Czech Republic, Macedonia, Denmark, San Marino Estonia, Finland Switzerland France United
Kingdom, Germany Vatican City State, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Malta , Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
The countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are also allowed be part of the EU's single market.
There may be SEPA Instant Participants in some non-EEA SEPA countries, for example UK banks.
