With the introduction of SEPA Instant for outgoing payments you are now able to manage your own daily or transaction limit.

You can apply these limits to IBB for SEPA Instant Payments.

Daily Limit means you can make any number of instant payments in a day, up to the total amount that you set. For example, a daily instant payment limit of €500 means you can't pay more than €500 per day.  

Transaction limit means you set a limit to the amount you can pay. For example, a transaction limit of €100 means you can't pay more than €100 per payment.

No, it's a service that's available if you would like to use it.

If both people on a joint account set different  limits, the  limit for each person applies to only their instant payments.

A SEPA Instant Payment can be made to participating banks in the EU/EEA under the SEPA Scheme. From 9 October 2025, eurozone banks must be able to send and receive SEPA Instant payments. For non-eurozone banks, it will not be mandatory to send or receive SEPA Instant Payments until 2027. 

The list of EU/EEA countries within the SEPA Scheme are: 

Austria , Albania, Belgium, Andorra, Bulgaria, Moldova, Croatia, Monaco, Cyprus, Montenegro, 

Czech Republic, Macedonia, Denmark, San Marino Estonia, Finland Switzerland France United 

Kingdom, Germany Vatican City State, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, 

Malta , Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden 

The countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway are also allowed be part of the EU's single market.  

There may be SEPA Instant Participants in some non-EEA SEPA countries, for example UK banks.

It's a new check being introduced to help you protect your money.

With VoP we will check with the receiving bank the name of who you’re sending a SEPA payment (a SEPA credit transfer or a SEPA Instant credit transfer) to before you send it. We'll ask you to confirm if you want to continue. This helps you make sure your money is going to the right person or business. 

VoP will be available from 5 October 2025.

No, VoP will apply to existing SEPA payments and new instant payments.

VoP will apply to SEPA payments and SEPA Instant payments through digital channels only e.g., IBB.

Before you make a SEPA payment, VoP will check the name of the account you're paying with the receiving bank to see if it matches the name you gave us.

You will receive one of four results:

 - Match

 - Details do not match

 - Close match

 - Match not possible

You must review the results of the check carefully before deciding if you want to continue making the payment. 

For incoming payments to your account, we may share your account name with the payer and their bank.

The name of the person or business you want to pay fully matches the name that their bank holds for that IBAN.

You should always make sure that the Payee details are correct and genuine before going ahead with the payment.

The name of the person or business you want to pay does not match the name that their bank holds for that account.

Please confirm the account details with the payee before continuing.   

If you use unconfirmed payee details, your money may go to the wrong account, or you may be at risk of being scammed. We may not be able to recover your money if that happens.

The name of the person or business you want to pay does not fully match the name that their bank holds for that account. 

We’ll show you the name on the payee’s account as confirmed to us by their bank. Please check this before continuing with your payment.

If you wish you can change the name you entered to match the name on the account  as confirmed to us by the payee’s bank.

If you use unconfirmed payee details, your money may go to the wrong account, or you may be at risk of being scammed. We may not be able to recover your money if that happens.  

We can’t check the name of the person you want to pay.

For example this can be because  :

- The account is closed.

- The Payees payment account is not in the SEPA Zone 

- It is not a payment account.

- A technical fault has occurred.

Please confirm the account details with the payee before continuing.

No, while VoP will be an additional step to help you protect your money when making your SEPA payment, it won't affect the time taken to send a payment once you have approved it.

VoP does not apply to debit card payments. VoP only applies to SEPA payments and SEPA Instant payments. 

VoP will not stop a payment. You must decide whether or not to   proceed with the payment once you have reviewed the VoP response. 

If you are making a payment to a joint account, enter one of the account holders names. If you receive a ‘Close match’ result, VoP will have selected the account holder the information you provided was closest to. 

If a payee’s name contains a special character (á, ü, â etc...), VoP will treat the name as though there is no special character.

There is no additional limit imposed on volume or value of transactions via Instant Payments, beyond any limits already applying on the Channel or self-applied by the customer through their SEPA Instant limit.

No it will not happen in a branch, however it is a part of the IBB channel.
