CHAPS payments service
Clearing House Automated Payment System (CHAPS) is an electronic transfer system for sending Sterling payments within the UK on a same day value basis. This payment is normally used for high value transactions and has the ability to include additional information with the payment e.g. an address in the case of conveyance payments.
Outgoing payments can be made up until 16.00 in branch or up to 17:25 using iBB, on banking days only. Incoming payments can be received until 18:20.
