Helpful tips for credit and debit card users if your card didn’t work
Your card didn’t work, it may be because:
- There’s a problem with your card
- There’s a problem with the terminal
- You might have reached the contactless limit on your card and will need to insert your card and complete a Chip and PIN transaction (for security) instead of doing a contactless transaction or;
- You don’t have enough money in your account
My contactless card didn’t work, what can I do?
- Try making the payment using Apple Pay or Google Pay, if available on your card/device
- If the terminal allows it, try inserting your card and do a Chip and PIN transaction
- Ensure you have enough money in your account, you can check your balance on mobile or online banking
- Try book services (e.g. purchasing tickets) online in advance, if available
