Three year account package with no monthly maintenance fees during the term of the account
The Graduate Account and associated benefits are valid for a maximum of three years from the date you open your account either as a new account or by conversion of your existing AIB (NI) Student+ Account.
However, you may have to pay support fees for certain services. Please see our price list for more details.

An interest-free overdraft of up to £1,000 (subject to status)
The first £1,000 of any arranged overdraft (subject to status) will be interest-fee (0% EAR variable). This is not an automatic overdraft and you must apply if you require one.
There is no fee for arranging or using the agreed overdraft whilst you hold the Graduate Account.The amount sanctioned will depend on your financial circumstances and your ability to pay back the money. You must be aged 18 or over and have a regular income like a salary paid into your AIB account. . For full details, or for a written quotation, please contact us.

No commission charge for foreign currency
You will not pay any commission charges on foreign currency transactions such as, buying or selling cash or lodging a foreign currency cheque to your account.

Easy access to your money with our Visa debit card
A Visa debit card allows you to make purchases and withdraw money from your bank account worldwide*. You can use your card in shops, at cash machines and online wherever Visa Debit is accepted. You can also check your balance at any AIB (NI) or AIB cash machine.

AIB (NI) Online, Mobile or Phoneline Banking puts you in control of your finances. Many of the things you do at the branch counter you can do sitting at home with Online Banking - checking your balances, paying your bills, transferring money, ordering a statement and carrying out a cheque search.

Text Alerts to help you manage your account
An Account Alert is a text message notification we’ll send you to help you manage your Current Account.
An Arranged Overdraft Alert is a text message notification we’ll send you to help you manage your Arranged Overdraft on your Personal Current Account.
If we hold an up to date mobile telephone number, we will send you a text message to help you avoid charges and keep your account in credit or within any agreed overdraft.
If you are registered for Online Services, you can also register for Balance Alerts which is a text message we can send you when your account has dropped below an amount that you set.

Seamlessly move into the Classic Account after 3 years
After 3 years, we will convert your account to a Classic Account. Your account details will not change and we will contact you at this stage to confirm this change.

Switch your graduate banking to us 'stress-free' in seven working days
Switch your current account from one bank or building society to another in a simple, reliable and stress-free way. It will only take seven working days. As your new current account provider we offer the following guarantee:
- The service is free to use and you can choose and agree your switch date with us.
- We will take care of moving all your payments going out (for example, your Direct Debits and standing orders) and those coming in (for example, your salary).
- If you have money in your old account, we will transfer it to your new account on your switch date.
- We will arrange for payments accidentally made to your old account to be automatically redirected to your new account. We will also contact the sender and give them your new account details.
- If there are any issues in making the switch, we will contact you before your switch date.
- If anything goes wrong with the switch, as soon as we are told, we will refund any interest (paid or lost) and charges made on either your old or new current accounts as a result of this failure.

Open your account today
To open a new Graduate Account, simply call into your local AIB branch.
For Non AIB graduates you will need to bring your Certificate of Degree to confirm that you have graduated within the last 2 years and that you are eligible to open the account.
Please note you must be a UK resident to open an account with us.
If you hold an existing Student Plus Account with us, you can swap to the Graduate Account without opening a new account.

As a responsible lender, we will only lend you money after assessing whether you are able to make the repayments.
We will only issue credit facilities depending on your financial circumstances. You must be aged 18 or over and have a regular income like a salary paid into your AIB account.

We adhere to the Standards of Lending Practice which sets standards for banks when dealing with lending and overdrafts for personal customers. You can get more information on the Standards from any branch or at www.lendingstandardsboard.org.uk. Under the Standards we have also developed a Statement of Lender and Borrower Responsibilities to ensure that the relationship works well for both of us.
