How do I cancel a Direct Debit?

Mobile Banking
Log in to your Mobile Banking app, click on ‘Pay & Transfer’ then select ‘Direct Debits’. ‘Cancel' is available besides Direct Debit.
Note: You will also need to send the direct debit cancellation request in writing to the orginating company.

Online Banking
Log in to Online Banking and click on ‘Pay & Transfer' from the top of the screen. Then select ‘Direct Debits’ from the drop down menu. 'Cancel’ is available on the right of the screen.

Speak to a customer service adviser
If you are registered for Online Services (Online, Mobile and Phoneline Banking) you can cancel a Direct Debit over the telephone.
Simply call Phoneline Banking on 0345 793 0000†, log in and choose option zero (0) and one of our Customer Service Advisers will be happy to help you. Our advisers are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday (excluding Bank Holidays).
If you are not registered for Online Services please call 0345 6005 925† (between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays) with your account number and the details of the direct debit you wish to cancel. A Customer Service Adviser will be able to cancel your direct debit, once you complete our standard security checks.

Visit a branch
Drop in to any AIB branch during opening hours*, with suitable photographic identification, where a member of staff will be happy to help you complete your request.
