- There will be no immediate change to how you use these banknotes. You can continue to accept, pay out and lodge these as normal until midnight on 30th June 2022.
- We are already dispensing Bank of England banknotes from our ATM network in Northern Ireland, and will gradually withdraw our own banknotes from circulation. This means you will see less of our banknotes in circulation as we approach the 30th June 2022.
- After 30th June 2022 anyone who still holds these banknotes can exchange these for other sterling banknotes of equivalent face value at any AIB branch in Northern Ireland indefinitely, or any Post Office® in the UK for a further 2 years. Supporting documentation, including proof of identity and address, may be required. Limits may apply
