Avoid monthly fees if you keep your account in credit each month^.

Easy access to your money with our Visa debit card
A Visa debit card allows you to make purchases and withdraw money from your bank account worldwide*. You can use your card in shops, at cash machines and online wherever Visa Debit is accepted. You can also check your balance at any AIB (NI) or AIB cash machine.

Text Alerts to help you manage your account
An Account Alert is a text message notification we’ll send you to help you manage your Current Account.
An Arranged Overdraft Alert is a text message notification we’ll send you to help you manage your Arranged Overdraft on your Personal Current Account.If we hold an up to date mobile telephone number, we will send you a text message to help you avoid charges and keep your account in credit or within any agreed overdraft.
If you are registered for Online Services, you can also register for Balance Alerts which is a text message we can send you when your account has dropped below an amount that you set.

Deal with unexpected expenses
Apply for an overdraft to help you through those times when you run out of cash unexpectedly. There is no arrangement fee for overdrafts.
If you require an overdraft then you must apply for it. The amount sanctioned will depend on your financial circumstances and your ability to pay back the money. You must be 18 or older. For full details, or for a written quotation, please contact us.

Switch your current account to us 'stress-free' in seven working days
Switch your current account from one bank or building society to another in a simple, reliable and stress-free way. It will only take seven working days. As your new current-account provider we offer the following guarantee:
- The service is free to use and you can choose and agree your switch date with us.
- We will take care of moving all your payments going out (for example, your direct debits and standing orders) and those coming in (for example, your salary).
- If you have money in your old account, we will transfer it to your new account on your switch date.
- We will arrange for payments accidentally made to your old account to be automatically redirected to your new account. We will also contact the sender and give them your new account details.
- If there are any issues in making the switch, we will contact you before your switch date.
- If anything goes wrong with the switch, as soon as we are told, we will refund any interest (paid or lost) and charges made on either your old or new current accounts as a result of this failure.

Please note you must be a UK resident to open an account with us.If you hold an existing current account with us, you can swap to the Classic Account without changing your account number.
We will need to see proof of your identity and address (such as your passport, driving licence and a gas or electricity bill). If you are not sure what proof we accept, click here or speak to a customer service adviser on 0345 6005 925†.

If you are an existing personal customer and are looking for an additional account, you can:
- Download and read the Personal Banking terms and conditions.
- Download, print and complete the Personal Account Application Form.
- Post the form to: AIB NI, 92 Ann Street, Belfast BT1 3HH or drop it into your nearest AIB NI branch.
Please note to open an account by post we will need to hold a valid certified proof of identity and address for you and any other applicants.
